I want to say how proud I am of my oldest daughter. She is really becoming a fine young lady. She has made so much progress in school and she has come a very long way. If you have a child with special needs than you know what an IEP is. This is a document that allows my daughter to get the help that she needs. Now every child is different. She is very independent in a lot of ways. She just happens to have characteristics of being on the spectrum. There are many of us that are under the spectrum in some way. Yesterday was her last IEP. I am so proud of how eloquently she spoke. It felt so good to know that now she is moving on and going to start a new chapter after graduation. I am so blessed to have such an amazing daughter.
All of these kids are amazing and deserve a chance in life. I wish there were more opportunities for them. I know my daughter will make good choices in life. I think she has a gift inside of her. I think she finally figured it out.
